German Internet service provider 1&1 has launched a new flat rate tariff for mobile phone calls within Germany and mobile Internet access via smartphone as well as two new flat rate tariffs for surfing the web via Notebook or netbook.

Smartphone Plan “All-Net Flat & Internet-Flat”

With the postpaid price plan called “All-Net Flat & Internet-Flat” subscribers can make unlimited calls to landlines and other mobile phones in Germany and surf the web via GPRS over the Vodafone network with 250 MB per month for faster data transfers via EDGE, UMTS or HSPA with up to 7.2 mbps (download). The new 1&1 smartphone plan is available at www.1und1.de for € 39.90 per month and an one-time set-up fee of € 29.95.

There is no long minimum term commitment for “All-Net Flat & Internet-Flat” subscribers when they choose not to buy a new smartphone at the 1&1 web store for a subsidized purchase price. However, subscribers can withdraw from the contract only with a three months’ notice. Customers booking the smartphone plan and buying a new device such as the HTC Wildfire, the Nokia C5 or the LG GD510 Pop (all for € 0.00) must agree to a long minimum term commitment of 24 months.

Checking voice mail within Germany with the “All-Net Flat & Internet-Flat” plan is free of charge, sending text messages (SMS) within Germany costs € 0.10 per message. Mobile phone calls from Germany to other countries are rather expensive with the new 1&1 smartphone plan: The Internet provider charges between € 0.69 and € 1.89 per minute for such calls.

Instead of the mobile Internet flat rate tariff suscribers can choose an SMS package with 100 messages per month for sending them to other mobile phones in Germany. When ordering the smartphone plan new customers must indicate their name, their place of residence and their ID number which will be checked when the starter package is delivered.

Mobile Internet Plans “Notebook Flat” and “Notebook Flat XL”

The new mobile Internet plans “Notebook Flat” and “Notebook Flat XL” also come with either a short minimum term commitment of three months or a long minimum term commitment of 24 months. New customers agreeing to a long minimum term commitment do have to pay a set-up fee and get an UMTS surf stick for free. Others pay a set-up fee of € 29.90 and additional € 29.99 for a new UMTS surf stick.

The “Notebook Flat” plan costs € 9.99 per month and offers unlimited access to the Internet via GPRS over the German Vodafone network including 1 GB data volume per month for faster data transfers via EDGE, UMTS or HSPA with up to 7.2 mbps (download). The “Notebook Flat XL” plan costs € 19.99 per month and offers unlimited access to the Internet via GPRS including 5 GB data volume per month for faster data transfers.
