German mobile phone provider Bildmobil has launched a prepaid package for mobile internet access via GPRS or UMTS in the network of Vodafone. The so-called Speedstick with SIM card of Bildmobil will be available to notebook or netbook users at the Bildmobil online shop for 49.95 euros and further 5 euros for delivery. Credit of 6.99 euros for a week of free access to the internet is included in the prepaid starter package of Bildmobil.

The Bildmobil Speedstick comes with different tariffs: Mobile internet access for 30 minutes costs 59 cents, for 90 minutes 99 cents. The third tariff offers mobile internet access for an entire week and costs 6.99 euros. Data transfers are limited to 1 GB per online session. After having reached either the data traffic or the time limit, the surf sessions will end automatically.

The APN for the mobile internet access is “event.vodafone.de”. Services such as voice over IP, instant messaging or peer to peer are not allowed with this mobile internet price plan. It is not possible to make phone calls with this data SIM card of Bildmobil.

At the moment, the network of operator Vodafone supports download speeds of up to 7.2 mbps. Soon people will be able to receive data via HSPA with up to 14.4 mbps in some regions of Germany. For other prepaid price plans of German providers check our overview:
