In Germany, the new Research in Motion (RIM) smartphone Blackberry Bold 9700 will be available in November at Vodafone and T-Mobile stores. The Blackberry Bold 9700 has been developed at the new RIM location in Bochum. Expect that the Blackberry Bold 9700 will be available at T-Mobile stores for prices beginning at 9.95 euros with new cell phone contract over 24 months. Without contract, you will probably find the new Blackberry smartphone for prices around 500 euros at stores.

Key features of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone include a 2.44 inch display with 480 x 360 pixels resolution, a virtual QWERTZ keyboard and the new trackpad, a 3.2-megapixel camera, a media player with up to 38 hours playing time and a 3.5-millimeter stereo headset jack, built-in GPS and WiFi as well as GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSDPA support. The smartphone comes with Blackberry OS 5.0, a 624-MHz processor, 256 MB flash memory and a microSD/SDHD memory card slot that supports up to 16-GB cards today. The removable, rechargeable 1500 mAhr battery is supposed to provide approximately six hours of talk time and 17 days of standby time in 3G-mode.

Blackberry Storm2 9520 Soon at Vodafone Stores as well

The Blackberry Storm2 9520 smartphone, which will be available soon at Vodafone stores as well, introduces a new technology called “SurePress” that provides the user with tactile feedback when the 3.25-inch touch screen with 360 x 480 pixel resolution is pressed. This is supposed to make typing on the smartphone’s virtual keyboards easier, more comfortable and more accurate. The new SurePress technology also allows the user to type a letter with one thumb even while their other thumb may still be touching or resting on another letter, enabling faster typing and multi-key actions such as Shift or Alt-key combinations.

Key features of the Blackberry Storm2 9520 include a 3.2-megapixel camera, a media player with a 3.5-millimeter stereo headset jack, built-in GPS and WiFi as well as GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSDPA support. The smartphone comes with Blackberry OS 5.0, a 624-MHz processor, 256 MB flash memory, 2 GB of onboard memory storage and a microSD/SDHD memory card slot that supports up to 16-GB cards today. According to RIM, the removable, rechargeable 1400 mAhr battery provides approximately six hours of talk time and 280 hours of standby time.

At the moment, Vodafone sells the Blackberry Storm 9500 for 549.90 euros without cell phone contract and for prices beginning at when the customers decides on a contract with flat rate tariff with 24 months minimum term.
