From today, the low end smartphone Blackberry Curve 8520 is available at Real supermarkets for EUR 199.00 without contract. This is less than what the operators T-Mobile, Vodafone, E-Plus and O2 Germany ask for: T-Mobile sells the Blackberry Curve 8520 for EUR 229.96 without contract, Vodafone for EUR 269.90, E-Plus for EUR 209.99 and O2 Germany for EUR 249.00.

The quad-band world phone comes with a full QWERTZ keyboard, a 2-megapixel camera with video recording as well as a media player with a 3.5-millimeter stereo headset jack. It supports GPRS and EDGE for mobile data services and WiFi (b/g) for internet access at hotspots. The Blackberry Curve 8520 is powered by a 512 MHz processor and offers 256 MB flash memory which can be expanded by a microSDHC card with up to 32 GB. And, of course, the smartphone comes with the Blackberry Internet Service support for access to up to 10 supported email accounts, Blackberry Enterprise Server support and access to the Blackberry App World.
