German discount provider Edeka Mobil offers a new community tariff to its prepaid price plan in the network of operator Vodafone. The new community tariff option can be booked for EUR 3.99 and includes all mobile phone calls as well as SMS messages to other Edeka Mobil customers in Germany. If desired, customers of Edeka Mobil must cancel the flat rate option not later than one day before the 30-day period ends, otherwise the validity of the flat rate option is extended for another four weeks – provided there is enough credit on the prepaid phone. This is done by calling the number 22922 for free.

Without flat rate option users of the prepaid price plan of Edeka Mobil are charged 9 cents per minute for calls to home phone connections, just like for calls to other mobile phones within the country. Checking voice mail from within Germany is free of charge, for sending SMS messages customers of Edeka Mobil pay 9 cents each.

The single starter package of Edeka Mobil consists of the SIM card and EUR 10.00 credit and is available for EUR 9.99. For families Edeka offers a family package with four SIM cards with EUR 10.00 credit for each SIM card for EUR 29.90. The prepaid starter packages are sold at Edeka stores or at www.edeka24.de/edeka+mobil/. In addition to the new community quasi-flat rate option customers of Edeka Mobil can also order another flat rate option for 250 hours of calls to German home phones over a period of 30 days which costs EUR 9.99.
