Day Flat Rate for Mobile Internet Access by Tchibo
Tchibo Mobil will start a mobile internet flat rate in the network of mobile operator o2 Germany coming Monday, July 27th. Accessing the internet via GPRS, EDGE, UMTS or HSPA with up to 3.6 mbps download speed will cost users 2.95 euros per day. Tchibo will also sell a UMTS surf stick for 49.95 euros to mobile internet users.
Users of this price plan called “Tagflat” only pay the daily fee when actually using the mobile internet access. In order to activate the mobile internet access users will have to send an SMS message with “START TAGFLAT” to the number 7777. Data traffic is unlimited, but data transfer will be reduced to GPRS speed for the rest of the day when the user has exceeded 1 GB data volume.
Tchibo Mobil also offers a monthly flat rate for mobile internet access. For this price plan called “Internet-Flatrate XL” Tchibo charges customers 19.95 euros per month. Data transfer speed will be reduced for the remaining days of a month when overstepping a data volume of 5 GB.
