Discoplus: New Provider for Low-Cost Mobile Phone Calls

Discoplus also offers two flat rate options to its prepaid price plan. A flat rate tariff for unlimited mobile phone calls to home phones in Germany over a 30-day period can be booked for EUR 9.95. A flat rate tariff for mobile data services is available for EUR 9.95 as well. The mobile data flat rate tariff includes 500 MB for data transfers with EDGE, UMTS or HSPA speed with up to 7.2 mbps (download). After having used up the 500 MB, the Discoplus customer has to cope with GPRS speed for the remaining days of that specific month.
At the Discoplus website users will also find a web store for new cell phones. At the moment, Discoplus is selling the Apple iPhone 3G S 16GB for EUR 654.90. People buying the Apple iPhone 3G S 16GB and the prepaid starter package of Discoplus pay EUR 624.90 for the smartphone. But there also other mobiles of of other manufacturers as well.
The Discoplus plan is a quasi-prepaid price plan. Users need a German residence and a German banking account for being able to order the prepaid starter package. New calling credit will be topped up by direct debit. The Discoplus price plan offers comparably low rates for mobile phone calls within Germany, but is not suited for international calls or for calling special rate numbers.
