Garmin and the online hotel reservation portal Hotel reservation Service (HRS) make hotel booking and arrival easier. Users can now transfer hotel data directly from the HRS website to their Garmin mobile navigation device. After booking and receiving the booking confirmation they just have to connect their navigation device to the PC or laptop and start the transfer of the hotel data to their mobile navigation system at a click of the mouse. Before setting off in his car, he can then select the hotel’s address as his destination, bookmark it for future use or view the area around the target location on the map displayed on his Garmin navigation system.

The HRS data base contains information to approximately 230,000 hotels and more than one million ratings of users. The free registration service enables direct bookings with immediate confirmation with guaranteed room prices for the booking in question. Users don’t need a credit card for booking, room prices are paid when arriving at the hotel. Bookings can be changed or cancelled free of charge right up until 6pm on the day of arrival.
