As I have already reported, mobile phone provider Speach offers bonus telephone minutes to prepaid customers who top up new credit. Two other discount providers – Igge & Ko and Solomo – are running a similar promotion campaign: Cell phone users with a prepaid price plan of Igge & Ko or of Solomo get once 100 or 250 bonus telephone minutes when topping up new credit of EUR 10.00 or EUR 20.00 until the end of this year. Bonus minutes expire at the end of the year.

New customers who are buying a prepaid SIM card of Igge & Ko or Solomo will even receive 500 bonus telephone minutes. The prepaid starter package of Igge & Ko includes a SIM card and EUR 5.00 credit and is available at www.iggeundko.de or at Sky or Plaza-SB stores for EUR 9.95. Solomo offers two different prepaid price plans called 085 and Pro. The 085 starter package costs EUR 9.95 and includes a SIM card and EUR 5.00 credit, the Pro starter package including a SIM card and EUR 9.95 credit is available at www.solomo.de for EUR 14.95.

Regularly, Igge & Ko and Solomo (in 085 plan) charge 8 cents per minute for calls to German home phones and mobile phones and 5 cents per minute for community calls. Until the end of this year, mobile phone calls between users of the same price plan are free of charge. Checking voice mail within Germany is free of charge, as well, for sending SMS messages customers pay 8 cents each. The fee for accessing the internet via GPRS or UMTS amounts to 29 cents for Igge & Ko users and to 24 cents per minute for Solomo 085 users.

Igge & Ko and Solomo are no-frills providers that cooperate with mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) Vistream. Their prepaid price plans are offered in the network of operator E-Plus. Since E-Plus has begun to expand HSDPA coverage mobile data transfer download speed reaches up to 440 kbps in some areas.
