There is a new prepaid cell phone plan in the German market. It is called Lokalisten Fon and has been launched by the German language online community and social network Lokalisten.de. Lokalisten Fon offers cheap rates for mobile phone calls or SMS messages sent to other Lokalisten Fon users, for these services the mobile phone provider charges 2 cents per minute respectively per SMS. For all other mobile phone call minutes or SMS messages sent within Germany users pay 12 cents. Checking voice mail is free of charge. Mobile phone calls to other countries cost 99 cents per minute with this cell phone plan.

For Lokalisten Fon, Lokalisten.de cooperates with operator O2 Germany. The network of O2 Germany supports mobile data transfers via GPRS, EDGE, UMTS or HSPA with up to 7.2 mbps. Maximum data transfer speed for Lokalisten Fon users is limited to 3.6 mbps, the charge is 24 cents per megabyte.

All registered members of the online community Lokalisten.de can order the new prepaid price plan for mobile phone calls. This registration is free of charge. At the moment, the prepaid start package (SIM card and credit of 5 euros for free calls) is available for 5 euros, eventually it will cost 10 euros, says Lokalisten.de. New customers ordering the prepaid starter packages until the end of November will receive an additional Lokalisten Fon SIM card as a give-away for a family member, the partner or a good friend.
