Mobile phone provider Drillisch has reduced the monthly fee for its mobile data plan “McSim Data”. Until the end of November, this flat rate price plan for accessing the internet via GPRS or UMTS in the network of operator Vodafone is available at www.mcsim.de for EUR 19.95 per month. This is a comparably cheap offer for a mobile data price plan in the network of Vodafone. This price will apply for a duration of 24 month, afterwards the monthly fee will be raised to EUR 29.95. Drillisch also charges new customers EUR 24.95 set-up fee and EUR 2.95 for delivery.

If needed, customers can also buy the UMTS surf stick Vodafone K3715 for EUR 59.00 when booking the mobile data plan. This UMTS surf stick supports mobile data transfers with up HSPA speed of up to 7.2 mbps (download) and 1.45 mbps (upload). At Vodafone stores, the UMTS surf sticl K3715 can be bought for EUR 129.90 without contract.

McSim Data is not a prepaid price plan but comes with a short minimum term of one month. New customers have to provide an address registered with the public authorities and a banking account in Germany. McSim Data provides access to the internet via GPRS, EDGE, UMTS or HSPA. However, notebook or netbook users have – just as with other mobile data price plans in Germany – an allotment of 5 GB data volume per month until the data download speed is reduced to 64 kbps. According to the general terms and conditions, it is not allowed to use services such as voice over IP or instant messaging with this mobile internet tariff.
