As reported earlier, mobile operator Vodafone and SevenOne Intermedia (N249 are selling an UMTS surf stick with mobile internet access to notebook or netbook users. Now, this prepaid price plan for mobile internet users is also available without the N24 internet stick (Huawei E160E). The prepaid starter package without N24 internet stick costs 14.95 euros and consists of the prepaid SIM card and 10 euros credit. It is still possible to buy the prepaid starter package with N24 internet stick, the advertised price has been reduced to 44.95 euros.

The N24 internet stick supports data transfer rates of up to 3.6 mbps download and 384 kbps upload. The entire UMTS network of Vodafone already supports download speeds of up to 3.6 mbps. In bigger cities data transfer rates reach 7.2 mbps, at several airports and train stations Vodafone has increased download speeds to 14.4 mbps. Within Germany, users of the N24 Internet stick can surf the web portal of the news channel for free. Voice over IP is not allowed with this mobile internet price plan.

There are three different mobile internet access packages for users of the N24 internet stick: For 60 minutes Vodafone charges 99 cents, for 12 hours 2.99 euros, and for seven days 9.99 euros. In each surf package data traffic is reduced to 1 GB. Outside of Germany, there are three more 24 hours surf packages with prices ranging from 19.95 euros to 34.95 euros. In international surf packages data volume is limited to 50 MB.
