New Day Flat Rate Tariff For Mobile Internet Access by Blau
No-frills provider Blau has launched a new flat rate tariff for mobile internet access by notebook, netbook or cell phone in the network of E-Plus. With the new Tages-Flatrate users of the 9-cents prepaid price plan of Blau can access the internet via GPRS, EDGE or UMTS over a fixed period of 24 hours for a one-time charge of 2.40 euros. Within this 24 hours mobile data traffic for transfers with EDGE or UMTS speed is limited to 1 GB, services such as voice over IP or peer to peer are not allowed in this day flat rate tariff. The mobile internet day flat rate of Blau is more expensive than the DayFlat of mobile phone provider Medion Mobile (Aldi Talk), which offers similar benefits for 1.99 euros.
Data transfer speeds in the network of E-Plus usually go up to 384 kbps. As reported earlier, E-Plus is now beginning to launch HSDPA in selected cities such as Berlin, Essen, Dusseldorf, Leipzig, Magdeburg, Nuremberg and Stuttgart in order to improve UMTS network coverage rather than offering higher download speeds.
New customers of Blau can buy the prepaid starter package including the Blau SIM card with 20 euros credit and a UMTS surf stick for 84.90 euros at www.blau.de. Customers who already have the Blau SIM card activate the day flat rate simply by using the APN “tagesflat.eplus.de” instead of the standard APN “internet.eplus.de”. With the standard APN Blau users pay 24 cents per megabyte. They can also choose a 1-gigabyte price plan option for 9.90 euros or a 30-day flat rate option for 19.80 euros.
