New Directory Inquiry Service 11813 Offers Cheap Rates

17 October 2009 No Comment

The new directory inquiry service 11813 offers much cheaper rates than the two competitors Deutsche Telekom (11833) and Telegate (11880). Dialing the 11813 from a German home phone for a directory inquiry costs 59 cents per minute, 11833 and 11880 charge 1.79 euros per minute for such a call. Calling the 11813 for a directory inquiry by mobile phone with a German cell phone plan by E-Plus or O2 Germany costs 99 cents per minute. Vodafone charges 1.45 euros per minute for a mobile phone call to 11813 within Germany, while it is not possible yet to reach the new directory inquiry service with a T-Mobile connection.

Services in English and for International Phone Numbers

However, 11813 is a German language service which provides information on phone numbers in Germany only. Deutsche Telekom offers an English language service at 11837 and a Turkish language service at 11836. People looking for phone numbers in foreign countries dial 11834 (Deutsche Telekom) or 11890 (Telegate) which are both German language services. These German directory inquiry services usually offer special services such as sending information as SMS, call completion or reverse search. Often customers have to pay extra for these special services though.

Online Directory Inquiries for Free

With an internet connection at hand, users can also lookup phone numbers for free (except for the internet connection fee). Useful web portals for directory inquiries in Germany are www.dasoertliche.de, www.11880.com, www.teleauskunft.de, www.dastelefonbuch.de. www.gelbeseiten.de or www.goyellow.de are German yellow pages.

Such web portals can also be used on a mobile phone, sometimes there is even a mobile web version of it available. A special directory inquiry service with location based information is www.klicktel.de.
