Nokia Lumia 710 Now Available in Germany [Update]
Nokia will launch its second Windows Phone Lumia 710 in Germany on January 11th or 12th – at least that is what the handset manufacturer has told me yesterday. However, since this late afternoon the smartphone is already available at Vodafone stores in Germany. Vodafone offers the Lumia 710 for purchase prices of 329.90 without contract or between € 19.90 and &nbps;179.90 with contract.
The Nokia Lumia 710 will also be available at shops of the three German carriers Telekom (T-Mobile) and Telefónica Germany (O2), but it may take a while until they actually start offering the Windows Phone. For example, at Telekom stores the Nokia Lumia 710 will not be available before February, O2 will start offering the Lumia 710 next week. These two carriers haven’t announced prices yet, while other retail and web stores like Amazon or Cyberport ask for € 315.00 or 319.00 without contract.
The Nokia Lumia 710 is kind of the cheaper version of the Lumia 800, the first Windows Phone that Nokia launched last November. It runs on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and is powered by a 1.4-GHz single core processor. Like the Lumia 800, the Lumia 710 supports HSPA and Wifi n for faster data connections and comes with the Nokia services Drive and Music installed on the smartphone. However, as I have mentioned before, the Nokia Music service in Germany does not include Mix Radio.
On the other hand, the Lumia 710 differs from the Lumia 800 by camera resolution and quality, screen technology and memory capacity. The Nokia Lumia 710 features a capacitive 3.7-inch ClearBlack TFT-LCD with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels (not an AMOLED screen), an 5-megapixel camera (not an 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens) and 8 GB internal memory (instead of 16 GB). The Nokia Lumia 710 will be available in black and white, the backside cover can be exchanged by one in blue, yellow or red.
Vodafone Starts Selling the Nokia Lumia 800
Since yesterday, the Nokia Lumia 800 is available at Vodafone stores in Germany. However, purchase prices are comparatively high. Buyers will have to pay € 499.90 for the Lumia 800 without contract. Customers closing a new mobile phone contract with Superflat Internet price plan, will have to pay between € 29.90 and € 319.90.
Nokia Lumia 900 Specs Leaked
It seems as if some information on the specifications of the new flagship model Nokia Lumia 900 has been leaked. Recently, Pocketnow published first photos of the new Windows Phone. Now, the American web portal writes the Nokia Lumia 900 will hit AT&T stores as the Nokia Ace and feature a 4.3-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 800×480 pixels, an 8-megapixel camera, a second camera for video calls, 512 MB RAM and abattery with 1,830 mAh. It is expected, that Nokia will present the Lumia 900 and a second new Windows Phone called Lumia 719 next week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
