I wouldn’t count on it since prepaid providers such as Simyo or Blau haven’t announced a definite launch date yet. For tourists who are only visiting Germany for a short period of time there is also the problem that prepaid SIM cards of such no-frills providers can only be ordered online and will be delivered to a residence in Germany. My suggestion: You should buy a SIM card at a O2 Germany store with O2o prepaid price plan and book the mobile data flat rate tariff option Internet-Pack M (200 MB for data transfers with EDGE and 3G speed over 30 days for EUR 10.00) and then cut the normal SIM card so that it fits into the Apple iPad 3G. There are several tutorials on the internet that help you doing that. This one here is in German though: http://www.mac-guru.org/board11-probleme-und-fragen/board15-tutorials/8685-tutorial-um-aus-einer-sim-karte-eine-micro-sim-zu-erstellen-f%C3%BCr-das-apple-ipad/

Okay - I'm coming to Germany/Switzerland/Austria for 12 days starting the last week of May.

I'm bringing my US iPad3G, and am curious if it is confirmed that I'll be able to use any of these options by then? Do you have any info on a way I could order one of these SIMS and have it in time for my trip or should I plan on finding one in a store when I get to Köln?
