German TV station ProSieben has launched prepaid packages for mobile internet access for notebook or netbook users. The “ProSieben Web & TV Stick” package (SIM card, UMTS and DVB-T surf stick Huawei E510 and 3 euros credit balance) costs 94.95 euros including delivery and provides free access to web portal of www.prosieben.de via GPRS, EDGE, UMTS or HSPA in the network of Vodafone as well free TV via DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial). The “ProSieben Web Stick” package (SIM card, UMTS surf stick and 5 euros credit balance) costs 39.95 euros and provides free access to the ProSieben web portal. Notebook or netbook users who already have an UMTS surf stick can buy the ProSieben SIM card with 10 euros credit balance for 14.95 euros.

Users can choose between four different prepaid tariffs when accessing the internet in Germany via GPRS or UMTS. For an 1-hour session ProSieben charges 77 cents, for twelve hours with 1 GB data volume 1.99 euros, for three days with 1 GB data volume 3.99 euros, and for one week with 2 GB data volume 8.99 euros. When either the included data volume has been used up or online time has run up, the surf session ends automatically. According to the general terms and conditions voice over IP is not allowed with these prepaid price plans.

In addition to these four tariffs, there are two more for mobile internet access in other countries with 50 MB data volume included. For a 24-hour session in an European country users of the ProSieben surf stick pay 19.95 euros, in other countries outside of Europe rates for mobile internet access for 24 hours begin at 19.95 euros.

New credit balance for mobile internet access can be topped up by buying Vodafone CallNow vouchers at gas stations, at supermarkets or at kiosks or by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). The prepaid packages for mobile internet access of ProSieben can be ordered online at www.prosieben.de/stick/ or by calling the hotline at 01805 - 177 077. The Vodafone UMTS network supports mobile data transfers with up to 7.2 mbps.
