The Samsung I8910 runs on Symbian S60 5th Edition just like the Nokia N97. Users can personalize their home screen with widgets for applications like the media player, the FM radio, the contacts, or the calendar. Its body is made of glossy black plastic with silver chrome edges. In contrast to the Nokia N97, the Samsung I8910 lacks a real keyboard and has got only three keys under the touch screen for starting and finishing calls as well as opening the main menu. According to Samsung, speaking time is up to 13.5 hours

The highlight of the new cell phone Samsung I8910 is its AMOLED screen and touchable user interface. You’ ll see that once you take the cell phone in your hand and switch it on. Even though the Samsung I8910 sometimes carries the name affix HD, the screen with a size of 3.7 inches has got only a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels and shows 16.7 million colors. But: Pictures on the screen are sharp, colors are bright, and contrast is strong. Even from an angle of up to 160 degree you can still recognize what the touch screen displays.

It is not just the screen that limits the quality of video clips shown on the screen of the Samsung I8910, though. It is also the integrated camera. However, the Samsung I8910 has an integrated 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED photo light that still allows a pretty good photo quality and a video recording that other cell phones cannot match yet. The music player supports formats like MP3, AAC, and WMA. Due to a standard 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, it is possible to connect one’s own favorite headphones to the Samsung I8910. In addition, there is a FM radio on board.

To sum it up: The Samsung I8910 is a great entertainment phone with a very good touch screen and a huge memory. Some people might have to get used to the TouchWiz interface. In Germany, online shops sell the Samsung I8910 for prices of 500 euros and higher without a two-year contract.
