T-Mobile Sells Prepaid Packages for Mobile Internet

German mobile operator T-Mobile sells two different prepaid packages for mobile internet users. The prepaid packages include an UMTS surf stick with SIM lock, a SIM card called Xtra-Card and a price plans for accessing the internet called web’n'walk DayFlat. With a surf stick supporting HSDPA data rates the prepaid package costs 49.95 euros. For 69.95 euros T-Mobile customers get a web’n'walk stick that supports HSPA and allows data rates of up to 7.2 mbps download and up to 1.4 mbps upload.

The web’n'walk DayFlat is a prepaid price plan for mobile access to the internet. It can only be used in Germany. Customers pay 4.95 euros per day only when accessing the internet and can transfer 1 GB data volume until T-Mobile reduces the data rate to 384 kbps maximum download speed. After having transferred more than 2 GB data volume the data rate is reduced further to 64 kbps maximum download speed. Users are not allowed to user voice over IP services or instant messaging with this price plan.
