This Thursday, February 2nd, German discount supermarket Aldi Süd will offer the Android smartphone Medion Life P4310 for € 199.00. The Medion Life P4310 is built by Chinese manfucaturer ZTE and comes unlocked. The smartphone features a large touchscreen, Android Gingerbread and a 5-megapixel camera. The Medion Life P4310 is identical in construction as the Base Lutea 2 promoted by German operator E-Plus.

There is a whole bunch of discount providers offering prepaid SIM cards in the German mobile phone market. While most of them sell their prepaid starter packages at their own web stores, which makes it necessary that the customer indicates a residence and a banking account in Germany, some prepaid SIM cards and prepaid vouchers are available at supermarkets, kiosks and gas stations. This overview shows which low-cost prepaid price plans for mobile phone calls, text messaging (SMS) and mobile Internet access are available at supermarkets, kiosks, gas stations and operators’ stores in Germany.

German web store Getgoods.de is offering the LG X3 smartphone which hasn’t been announced by the manufacturer yet. Customers can pre-order the LG X3 for € 699 without plan at Getgoods.de but will probably have to wait until March for actually getting the Android smartphone.

Nokia will launch its second Windows Phone Lumia 710 in Germany on January 11th or 12th. The smartphone will be available at shops of the three German carriers Telekom (T-Mobile), Vodafone and Telefónica Germany (O2), but it may take a while until they actually start offering the Windows Phone.

The Android smartphone Samsung Galaxy Nexus is now also available at Vodafone stores in Germany. As reported earlier, the Galaxy Nexus offered by Vodafone will cost € 599.90 without plan. Customers also closing a contract over 24 months will pay between € 299.90 and € 379.90 – depending on the price plan they choose. For example, the Galaxy Nexus comes for € 299.90 when the buyer decides on a Superflat Internet Plus plan.

As of today, Aldi is offering its Android Honeycomb tablet Medion Lifetab P9514. The Lifetab tablet will be available at Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd supermarkets and cost € 399.00. The package includes a SIM card for the Aldi Talk prepaid plan.

N-TV Go! is the first provider in Germany offering a price as low as € 0.06 per minute for mobile phone calls to home phones and other mobiles in Germany. The new prepaid price plan is also a good choice for smartphone users since N-TV Go! does also offer a mobile data flat tariff option with 500 MB data volume for faster transfer speeds of up to 7.2 mbps (download) for € 7.99 over 30 days.

On Monday, December 5th, the Samsung Galaxy S Plus will be offered both by Aldi and Tchibo. While customers have to pay € 299.00 for the Android smartphone without plan, it will be available at Tchibo stores for € 49.90 with plan.

It will take another two weeks until the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be available at Vodafone stores in Germany. The operator will start offering the Android 4.0 smartphone not sooner than mid-December, Vodafone itself told Areamobile today. Fortunately, Vodafone Germany also revealed the purchase prices for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
